Welcome

Welcome to Hillside High School! Hillside is one of fourteen schools in the Upland Unified School District and one of two high schools. Hillside High School was honored with a Model School Award from the California State Department of Education in 1997, extending through 2002.

Our program offers students an alternative educational setting. The campus, student body and class sizes are smaller than a comprehensive high school, and yet Hillside offers a thorough academic program. Hillside offers students the opportunity to accelerate, earning variable credits towards a high school diploma. Hillside also offers an Independent Study Program.

The mission of Hillside High School is to provide an environment where students identify, expand and refine their natural abilities. Students will be educated for independence in our complex society and will be equipped with skills and tools that will allow them to successfully reach the vision of their future. They will be able to function responsibly in the workplace, community and their personal life.

Hillside High School’s goal  is to improve reading and writing skills and to ensure that every student who passes through our doors will become functionally literate in technology. We realize that a solid foundation in the use of technology will create opportunities for them in future job markets.

Hillside is generously supported by the Rotary Club of Upland and Upland High’s PTSA.  We are proud of the programs and opportunities Hillside has to offer students. We are confident that upon graduation, each student will be prepared to lead a productive and successful life.
