1. Read the above chapter online or ask me for a photocopy from the original book. This is a long chapter, take notes as you read.

2. In a 2-3 page, double-spaced essay, write a complete summary of the chapter and include your reaction to several of the points brought out by the author.

Rubric:

  25 points: Less than 2 pages, spelling and grammar errors, summary lacks consistency, reaction lacks depth of understanding.

50 points: Two or more pages, few spelling and grammar errors, consistent summary that shows that you read and understood the reading, a thoughtful reaction to the reading.
