A note from the Editor: A Brief History of the Talon. From what we know the Talon was formerly a newspaper called "The Hawk Talk" and has been around since Hillside High was created some 20 years ago. The Hawk Talks name was changed five years ago to the Talon.. This online version of the Talon is the vision of Mr. Connor who just this October (2005) came to Hillside as the technology teacher. Mr. Connor developed and maintained Upland Junior High's webpage from1998 to 2005, and now wants Hillside High to have a presence on the World Wide Web. As we expands our staff we will increase our mission. This year we are eagerly working on format and content of the site and posting of archived issues. We intend for this online paper to provide a forum for student expression. We also hope to cover major events as they happen, create a variety of articles covering a range of events from movie reviews to information about school and community events. Up next: Watch for our interactive
polls in the next issue.
